How Real Estate Signage Can Add Value to Your Realtor Business

April 02, 2021

Over the past ten years, almost all potential homebuyers have used the internet as their primary means of finding a home. Instead of hopping in their cars and driving around town, they can browse available homes for sale from the comfort of their home computers.

However, instead of focusing the entirety of their marketing efforts online, many Seattle realtors are increasing the amount of physical signage they use to advertise their business and properties for sale.

Why is this?

Read on to learn more about how real estate signage can improve the odds of attracting home buyers.

Virtual Open Houses

In light of the ongoing pandemic, some Seattle realtors temporarily host (live) virtual open houses. As part of their ongoing marketing efforts, they'll use strategically placed real estate signs that are prominently displayed throughout the video.

Front yard signs, neighborhood entrances, and signage inside the home are just some of the many ways that can help brand these virtual open houses. It has a keen psychological effect upon the viewer in which they subconsciously see the name of the realtor, phone number, website address, and other important information.

Many realtors will start their virtual tour with the cameraman showing a wide-angle view of the home from the front lawn. They will often string an outdoor banner from one end of the garage to the other that showcases the realtor's name, the address of the home, and a customized website URL that people can write down and visit at a later time.

Wayfinding Signs

Even though most people in Seattle are using the internet to find a new home, they are still going out and about on their daily business. Consider how many people are driving to work, school, and the grocery store. Wayfinding signage can help attract more interest in a nearby home for sale.

For example, you can put a for sale sign near the front entrance of a neighborhood. In addition to increasing the number of people who see the sign as they drive by, it can also encourage people to check out the local community.

Yard and Lawn Signs

Real estate yard and lawn signs are the bread and butter of realtors. They're lightweight, inexpensive, and offer a wide variety of customization options such as:

  • Single or double-sided
  • Vibrant colors
  • Weather-resistant inks and finishes
  • Wide variety of material options

Yard signs can also perform double-duty as directional wayfinding signage. This is especially helpful if the home you're selling is tucked away in the back of a community. Unlike a Tweet or Facebook post, which might go unseen, people generally tend to notice yard signs and subconsciously read them without realizing it.

Magnetic Car Signs

As a realtor, your job is to take advantage of any advertising opportunity that presents itself. A magnetic car sign is an inexpensive way of advertising your business 24/7. Whether you're driving in traffic or parked in the driveway of an open house, a car sign can provide people and passersby with your name, phone number, and website URL.

Many Seattle realtors who are taking advantage of magnetic car signs will have a smiling picture of themselves prominently featured. As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and people generally tend to make a deeper personal connection with a photo than plain text and logo.

A-Frame Signs

Every realtor worth his or her salt should have at least one A-frame sign in their marketing toolkit. These lightweight and relatively affordable signs work exceptionally well when placed on the sidewalk or driveway of an open home. You can choose from a wide variety of materials such as chalkboard, dry-erase, and magnetic boards.

Unlike other printed signs, you can change the information on an A-frame sign over and over again. This helps cut down on advertising costs and allow you to create a custom message for each open house that you're hosting. A-Frame signs are also very durable and can withstand just about anything that mother nature throws at them.
