As we look back over some of our past projects, we remember a few of our favorites – the business sign for Pike and Western Wine Shop, the adhesive vinyl project for local Seattle artist Patrick Fesler, an engraved lifetime achievement award for John Ziemann, president of the Baltimore Marching Ravens, the largest musical organization associated with the NFL – to name a few! Dimensional Sign
The sign for Pike and Western Wine Shop took a bit of time and some very careful precision, but it turned out perfect! The project was a reface to an existing sign. First, we had to digitize and typeset a hand-drawn logo image. Next, we created a stencil (which was tricky due to floating pieces). The image was then cut out of 16-gage steel. A rusted finish was added and then the steel was backed with clear acrylic. The face was placed over the electrical sign, and voilà! You can see the real thing at the Pike and Western Wine Shop at 1934 Pike Place in Seattle.
Adhesive Vinyl for Art
Adhesive vinyl isn’t just for signs! A local graphic designer, Patrick Fesler, brought in some awesome artwork he needed adhered to some old snow skis. We digitally printed the images and then laminated them for durability. They were then applied and trimmed to fit the skis. Patrick is using them for display purposes only. We don’t recommend using this type of application for actual skis, but for display purposes it’s perfect!
