Happy Veterans Day! We, at McNamara Signs, honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Our veterans have risked their lives to protect our freedoms and for that we are grateful. There are many ways to give back to the more than 23 million vets who have sacrificed so much.
Making custom signs in Seattle is our livelihood, but we wouldn’t be here today with out the sacrifices made by the men and women in our military. Like so many local businesses, our family-owned Seattle sign company takes pride in our craftsmanship and service. We also recognize the fact that owning and operating our business would look very different if it weren’t for the freedom we have as citizens of this great country. Let us take a moment here to honor and thank our vets who selflessly put their lives at risk for the well-being and future of our country.
There are several ways to show appreciation to honor our vets. Here are 5 things you can do:
- Visit a wounded veteran at the hospital, or deliver a home cooked meal to a disabled veteran.
- Offer to do odd jobs around the house or home repair skills to a veteran or military family.
- Volunteer your financial, legal, or career expertise via MilServe.
- Offer a vet a ride by volunteering with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) organization, which provides free transportation to men and women unable to travel to VA medical facilities on their own.
- Say “Thank You”.
Do you have a family member, friend or neighbor who has served our country? If you haven’t thanked them, do it today! Offering help or even just to listen to their stories is one way to recognize their service to our country.
